Luck is important but one can’t depend on luck to always work in their favor. At the same time, it isn’t a panacea for all problems. You can do everything right and still not get what you want because luck wasn’t on your side.

When a team on a losing streak suddenly starts getting a few victories under their belt, it’s natural to say their luck changed.

When a person who sees an upswing in their career after going through a particularly rough patch, it’s easy to assume that their luck has turned a corner.

Luck is important but one can’t depend on luck to always work in their favor. At the same time, it isn’t a panacea for all problems. You can do everything right and still not get what you want because luck wasn’t on your side.

But progress and change aren’t very dependent on luck.

While you’re waiting for your luck to change, here are a few other things that you can work on changing:

a) Your story, especially if it isn’t serving you

b) Redirecting your efforts in a positive direction

c) Re-looking at a belief, outlook, habit or approach that has held you back

If you work on these, the odds of your luck changing for the better are greater than if you just sat waiting for the winds of good luck to blow your way.
